Trade Shows and Conferences Where I'll Be Speaking

Microsoft Windows
Hardware Engineering
Conference (WinHEC)

April 25-27
New Orleans, Lousiana

By popular demand, WinHEC has added a driver developer's track this year, with over two dozen sessions!  Please note, though, that these are short and tightly focused on specific technology areas... and they assume you already know a lot about the NT/WDM driver model.  If you want to see the "big picture" first, don't miss our one-day pre-conference tutorial.   It's easy, as we're presenting it at the WinHEC headquarters hotel the day before WinHEC begins!  And of course, we'll have our trade show booth during the conference.

And, it's in New Orleans, at the edge of the French Quarter, and the New Orleans Heritage and Jazz Festival starts on the 28th; how can you possibly stay away?

Win2000 Forum
June 5-6
Stockholm, Sweden

My personal conference tour this year starts with a bang!  (Hopefully not from a 777 APU...)  I'm the invited keynote speaker for this Windows developer's conference.   I'll be doing sessions on Windows 2000 internals as they apply to developers.

WIN-DEV Eest 2000
June 5-9
Boston, MA

"The International Developers' Conference"™. Most sessions here are aimed at apps developers, but they are continuing their strong internals and drivers tracks from last year.  Since I'll be in Sweden the first part of the week (see above), I'll just be here on Thursday, for an updated, WDM-ized edition of my IRP handling talk, complete with newer and better insights on that all-so-pesky cancel problem!  But never fear; Brian Catlin, my partner in Azius Developer Training and WDM expert par excellance, will be covering the rest of my usual driver talks, and his too.

(In fact, if you look at the WinDev schedule, you'll find that Brian and I make up about three fourths of the driver sessions... despite what some other folks would have you believe!)

Usenix Annual
Technical Conference
June 18-23-
San Diego, CA

Believe it or not, I don't get rocks or pies or anything else thrown at me when I'm in front of a roomful of *ix folks.  Here I'm doing a one-day Windows 2000 Internals talk on Sunday, June 18.

SELA Developer's
Conference

July 2-4
Tel Aviv, Israel

Windows 2000 Internals and Drivers talks.  Web site not completely up yet; this is a link to the parent company.

Usenix LISA NT/Windows
Systems Symposium
July 30-Aug 4
Seattle, WA

A one-day Windows 2000 Internals talk on Sunday, July 30.

WIN-DEV West 2000
Sep 11-15
Santa Clara, CA

No overlap with European trips for the western WinDev, so I'll be here the whole week.  Besides Brian and I, there will be internals and driver-related talks from David Solomon, Mark Russinovich, and OSR's two driver folks.

WinSummit 2000
Oct 2-6
Davos, Switzerland

This is the second year for the European Windows Developers Summit, held in Davos, Switzerland, and my second year speaking there.  They must have liked me last year (and I certainly liked attending), because this year they've invited me back and asked Brian Catlin to come along too!
